Hi All,
The white building in the picture just of the fabulous beach was our first stop. This is Port Douglas in Queensland's far north. 90% humidity, 36 in the shade. Only thing to do is get on a boat and get out to sea. Snorkelling on the great barrier reef has been amazing. The only downside is wearing those lycra suits( see picture!!). We are not wearing these just to look like a pair of plonkers!! They are actually necessary unless you want to meet your maker by brushing against those tiny almost invisible box jellyfish - a sting generally proves fatal.
Sailing the coral sea for two days is the experience of a lifetime. This is a land of deserted beaches and fantastically coloured fish and corals. We have moved 800 KM's further south down the coast of Queensland which took 10 hours of driving. We are now exploring the Whitsunday Islands region. Taking a two hour ride in a seaplane tomorrow and will land on a desert island beach so watch here for pics.
Until then, as they say in these parts, G'Day to you all.
Darren & Lorraine
